The CIPHER project team is heading to Bucharest on 15 September 2026 for the European SOC Innovation Forum (ESIF 2026), hosted by Romania’s National Cyber Security Directorate (DNSC).
What is ESIF 2026?
Organised under the CYDERCO project framework, ESIF is a major European gathering for Security Operations Centres (SOCs), critical infrastructure operators, and technology pioneers. The forum brings together EU-funded initiatives to share real-world threat defense capabilities, discuss cross-border incident response, and bridge the gap between policy mandates and practical deployment.
Why our participation matters
With the EU NIS2 Directive raising the bar for cybersecurity, essential service operators need clear ways to move beyond theoretical compliance and actively prove their operational resilience. ESIF 2026 offers our consortium the ideal platform to show how CIPHER turns complex regulatory obligations into measurable risk governance across critical sectors.
Spotlighting the CIPHER water-utility pilot
The Project Coordination team -Cristian Radu, Mihai Cical, and Georgiana Tudora – will be there to represent CIPHER.
During Session 3 (Securing Critical Infrastructure), Cristian Radu will present a live CIPHER use-case titled “From NIS2 obligation to demonstrable resilience: securing distributed water-utility SCADA with CIPHER”. Drawing directly from our Aquatim pilot, the session will focus on how CIPHER’s automated testing, continuous risk monitoring, and threat forecasting protect distributed water-utility SCADA environments in real time.
