CIPHER joins the Cyber Resilience Synergy Network (CRSN) to power proactive European defense

As cyber threat actors escalate the frequency and sophistication of attack campaigns against critical infrastructure, pan-European anticipation and preparedness have become our absolute first line of defense. Aligning with this strategic necessity, the CIPHER project is proud to announce its official entry into the Cyber Resilience Synergy Network (CRSN) cluster !

A unified DNA for a cyber-resilient Europe

The CRSN cluster represents a powerful alliance of eight pioneering initiatives funded under the European Union’s Digital Europe Programme. While each project focuses on a distinct critical sector, the entire network shares a unified strategic blueprint: transitioning European cybersecurity from manual, reactive processes to autonomous, proactive orchestration.

Together, the eight cluster initiatives drive innovation across six critical pillars:

  • Autonomous & Proactive Defense: Utilising advanced AI, Machine Learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), and agentic systems to deliver continuous anomaly detection, predictive risk analysis, and automated, zero-touch incident response.
  • Securing Critical Interconnected Ecosystems: Safeguarding the unified compute continuum and essential supply chains, spanning utilities, smart cities, food production, finance, and logistics, via zero-trust architectures and secure-by-design frameworks.
  • Collaborative Threat Intelligence: Breaking down operational silos by establishing secure, cross-border platforms that allow organisations and next-generation Security Operations Centres (SOCs) to share actionable Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI).
  • Distributed Trust & Data Sovereignty: Guaranteeing cross-domain data integrity through privacy-preserving techniques (such as Fully Homomorphic Encryption) and tamper-proof Distributed Ledger Technologies.
  • Native Regulatory Compliance: Engineering next-generation tools that natively support and automate strict compliance with critical European regulations, most notably the NIS2 Directive, the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), and GDPR.
  • Empowering the Human Element: Bridging the cybersecurity skills gap by establishing dedicated learning centers, hands-on workshops, and real-time “Cyber Arena” testing environments to enhance operational readiness across the EU.

Meet the CRSN Cluster Alliance:

The network seamlessly bridges different domains to provide a comprehensive, 360-degree security paradigm for Europe:

  1. CIPHER: Developing collaborative, standardised testing facilities and available-as-a-service qualification platforms to foster compliance with the EU’s cybersecurity strategy.
  2. VIGILANCE: Advancing next-gen collaborative SOC environments, automated incident handling, and cross-border situational awareness.
  3. CyberAid: Enhancing the cyber resilience of financial systems through AI-driven orchestration platforms, LLMs, and operational digital twins.
  4. ENFORCE: Securing the cloud-to-edge compute continuum with trusted, automated service orchestration across energy, smart cities, and logistics.
  5. SONIC: Deploying advanced forensics, privacy-preserving analytics, and continuous monitoring tools custom-designed for next-generation SOC environments.
  6. ACT4FOOD: Protecting the agri-food supply chain from farm to fork by implementing advanced analytics, blockchain traceability, and the TACCP 4.0 physical risk framework.
  7. 5G-TACTIC: Strengthening the underlying safety, interoperability, and cross-border information sharing of European 5G network ecosystems.
  8. CTIS4NIS: Enabling secure threat intelligence architectures and reinforcing telecom infrastructure resilience in strict alignment with NIS2 and CRA requirements.

By actively combining our strengths, the CRSN cluster ensures that European infrastructure does not merely withstand cyber threats, but natively anticipates them.
