Securing Europe’s Digital Future: Welcome to CIPHER Project!

In an increasingly connected world, the resilience of our digital infrastructure has become a matter of public safety. From the water we drink to the energy that powers our homes, the essential services we rely on every day depend on secure and stable networks.

To address these challenges, we are proud to announce the official start of CIPHER (Cybersecurity Intelligence, Protection, and Holistic Enterprise Resilience). This 36-month initiative, co-funded by the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC), aims to provide Europe with the tools and standards needed to defend its most vital sectors.

Our mission: building concrete resilience

CIPHER is more than just a research project; it is a practical framework designed to deliver measurable security improvements through four key areas:

  • Advanced testing environment: We are developing a high-tech facility to safely simulate sophisticated cyberattacks. This allows us to validate security solutions in a controlled environment before they are deployed in the real world.
  • AI-enhanced threat intelligence: By using Artificial Intelligence and advanced analytics, CIPHER will help organisations move from reactive to proactive defence, identifying vulnerabilities before they can be exploited.
  • Real-world industrial pilots: Our platform will be tested and refined across three essential European sectors: telecommunications, logistics and water utilities.
  • Driving open innovation: To ensure Europe remains at the forefront of cybersecurity, CIPHER will launch Open Calls. This programme will provide financial and technical support to innovative SMEs, integrating their solutions into our growing ecosystem.

A collaboration of 13 expert partners

Security is a collective responsibility. Led by Eviden, the CIPHER consortium brings together 13 leading partners from 7 EU member states. This diverse group combines academic excellence with industrial expertise to ensure our results meet the highest European standards.

Looking ahead

The launch of our website marks the first step in a three-year journey towards a more secure European digital space. We invite you to follow our progress as we develop the next generation of cybersecurity tools and strategies.
